Customer Experience
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy, etc.) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied, etc.).
Operations
- Provides courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service to customers.
- Recommends items for sale, including trade-up and/or companion items.
- Handles transactions at the cash register, including collecting cash, giving change, processing refunds, exchanges, and voids. Assists customers in locating products.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves, takes inventory, and ensures accurate pricing and labeling as directed by management.
- Supports pharmacy operations by assisting with entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medications, and checking for interactions under supervision. Helps schedule and manage workflow.
- Reports prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist and follows company policies regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement.
- Adheres to policies on Good Faith Dispensing and maintains compliance with pharmacy codes of conduct.
- Handles non-urgent phone calls, including communication with physicians.
- Processes third-party prescription claims and performs clerical duties as assigned.
- Supports inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, checking shipments, and filing claims for discrepancies or damages.
- Ensures compliance with laws regarding regulated products like alcohol and tobacco.
- Constructs and maintains product displays, completes resets, and assists with promotional activities.
- Supports store maintenance and cleanliness, including food safety protocols and stock rotation.
- Maintains knowledge of store systems and equipment.
- Provides photo services, including digital passport photos and promotional products.
- Manages web order pick-up and delivery responsibilities.
- Supports store appearance and cleanliness, and maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.
- Completes assigned tasks and special projects as needed.
Training & Personal Development
- Maintains PTCB certification and/or state licensure through ongoing education and training.
- Attends training sessions, completes required coursework, and stays updated on healthcare and pharmacy developments.
Additional requirements include fluency in English (except in Puerto Rico) and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
