Customer Experience
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy, etc.) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied, etc.).
Operations
- Provides customers with courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service.
- Recommends items for sale to customers and suggests trade-up or companion products.
- Registers customer purchases on the assigned cash register, handles cash and change, and processes voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges. Assists customers in locating products, such as taking them to the OTC aisle.
- Keeps counters and shelves clean, well-organized, and stocked; manages inventory and maintains records. Checks in and prices merchandise as directed.
- Supports pharmacy operations by entering patient and drug information accurately, filling prescriptions, verifying medications, and checking for interactions. Assists pharmacists with scheduling and workflow management.
- Reports prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist and adheres to company policies regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement.
- Follows all policies related to Good Faith Dispensing and complies with the Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
- Handles non-urgent telephone calls, including those to physicians.
- Processes third-party prescription claims efficiently and performs clerical duties as assigned.
- Supports inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals. Maintains knowledge of asset protection techniques and files claims for discrepancies or damages.
- Ensures compliance with laws regarding regulated products like alcohol and tobacco.
- Constructs and maintains displays, including promotional and seasonal setups, and completes resets as directed.
- Assists with food and product placement, stock rotation, and restocking using FIFO methods.
- Maintains knowledge of store systems and equipment.
- Provides customer service in the photo area, including passport photos, poster printing, and promotional products.
- Handles web order pickups, monitors orders, and delivers them to customers.
- Maintains store cleanliness and appearance, and complies with all policies and procedures.
- Completes special tasks and assignments as needed.
Training & Personal Development
- Earns and maintains PTCB certification or relevant state certification/registration.
- Attends training, completes required coursework, and maintains knowledge of healthcare and pharmacy developments.
Additional requirements include:
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
