Job description

Customer Experience
  • Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy, etc.) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied, etc.).
Operations
  • Provides customers with courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service.
  • Recommends items for sale to customers and suggests trade-up or companion products.
  • Handles transactions at the cash register, including collecting cash, giving change, processing voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges. Assists customers in locating products in the store.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves, manages inventory, and records stock levels. Assists with pricing and stocking merchandise as directed.
  • Supports pharmacy operations by entering patient and drug information into pharmacy systems, assisting in prescription filling, verifying medication accuracy, and checking for interactions. Supports pharmacists with workflow management.
  • Reports prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist and follows company policies regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement.
  • Adheres to all pharmacy policies, including Good Faith Dispensing and the Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
  • Handles non-urgent phone calls, including communication with physicians.
  • Processes third-party prescription claims and performs clerical duties as assigned.
  • Supports inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking shipments, and maintaining records of pharmaceuticals and other store assets.
  • Ensures compliance with laws regarding regulated products such as alcohol and tobacco.
  • Constructs and maintains store displays, including promotional and seasonal setups.
  • Assists with product placement, stock rotation, and store cleanliness.
  • Maintains knowledge of store systems and equipment to provide effective customer service.
  • Provides photo services, including passport photos, poster printing, and promotional products.
  • Manages web order pick-up responsibilities, including monitoring and delivering orders.
  • Supports store maintenance and cleanliness to ensure a professional environment.
  • Follows all company policies and maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.
  • Completes additional tasks and special assignments as needed.
Training & Personal Development
  • Maintains PTCB certification and completes required training and continuing education to stay current in healthcare and pharmacy practices.
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
