Customer Experience
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy, etc.) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied, etc.).
Operations
- Provides courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service to customers.
- Recommends items for sale and suggests trade-up or complementary products.
- Handles transactions at the cash register, including collecting cash, giving change, processing refunds, voids, and exchanges. Assists customers in locating products, such as taking them to OTC aisles.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves, manages inventory, and records stock levels. Checks in and prices merchandise as directed by store management.
- Supports pharmacy operations by entering patient and drug information into pharmacy systems, filling prescriptions, verifying medication accuracy, and checking for interactions. Assists pharmacists with scheduling and workflow management.
- Immediately reports prescription errors to the pharmacist and follows company policies regarding pharmacy safety and quality standards.
- Adheres to all pharmacy dispensing policies, including Good Faith Dispensing.
- Handles non-urgent phone calls, including communications with physicians.
- Processes third-party prescription claims and performs clerical duties as assigned.
- Supports pharmacy inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals. Maintains knowledge of asset protection techniques and manages claims related to inventory discrepancies.
- Ensures compliance with laws regarding regulated products such as alcohol and tobacco.
- Creates and maintains visual displays, including promotional and seasonal setups, and completes resets as needed.
- Assists with food product placement and stock rotation, following safety and quality procedures.
- Maintains knowledge of store systems and equipment.
- Provides customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photos, poster printing, and promotional products.
- Manages web order pickups, including monitoring, fulfilling, and delivering orders.
- Supports store cleanliness and organization, ensuring a neat store environment.
- Follows all company policies and maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.
- Completes additional tasks and special assignments as directed.
Training & Personal Development
- Maintains PTCB certification through ongoing training and continuing education.
- Attends training sessions and completes required courses to stay current in healthcare and pharmacy practices.
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
