Cleveland Clinic's Inpatient Pharmacy supports distributive and clinical pharmacy services provided by staff pharmacists, clinical pharmacy specialists, and pharmacy technicians, supporting 60 nursing units, 80 operating rooms, 4 PACUs, and 10 cath labs, accounting for over 1,440 inpatient beds. In this role as a Pharmacy Clinical Specialist, you will focus on pediatric care, working in the PICU and PCICU.

**This caregiver position follows an evening schedule, working from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., with a 7-days-on, 7-days-off rotation.**

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

1. Coordinate and provide pharmaceutical care for patients.
2. Participate in patient care rounds.
3. Perform pharmacotherapeutic monitoring and provision of pharmaceutical care for patients.
4. Provide general and patient-specific drug information.
5. Educate clinical pharmacists, technicians, pharmacy students, post-graduate trainees, allied health professionals, nurses, and physicians in pharmacotherapy.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy
• If hired for a specialty area where specialty residency training is available, then a specialty residency is required
• Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) OR eligible for reciprocation in the current state within 90 days of hire
• Completion of a post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or fellowship OR completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY-1) and two years of experience as a clinical specialist or an equivalent role providing pharmaceutical care and performing pharmaceutical monitoring OR four years of experience as a clinical specialist or an equivalent role providing pharmaceutical care and performing pharmacotherapeutic monitoring
• For individuals required to administer immunizations: current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification obtained within 90 days of hire
• For individuals required to respond to adult or pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest events: current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or certification obtained within 1 year of hire
