Job summary

JobRx, Inc. seeks a Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator & Pharmacist in Charge for a full-time, days shift in California. You will provide expert clinical pharmaceutical care, supervise inventory and purchasing, and ensure compliance with state and federal laws.

As PIC you may work remote with VP approval; exempt status applies. Flexible hours include holidays, call-backs, weeknights, weekends, and on-call responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Must hold California Pharmacist license and maintain current licensure.
• Advanced clinical skills and IT pharmacy experience are preferred.
• Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities across departments.
• Ability to work with IT Pharmacy systems and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assists in creating and maintaining clinical programs and services.
• Participates in committee functions related to patient care and medication issues.
• Guides pharmacy content within the EHR, including order set creation.
• Serves as SME for ACS IT Pharmacy applications and projects.
• Develops action plans for Clinical Pharmacy activities and IT projects.
• Fosters relations with the Interdisciplinary Team while practicing as Pharmacist.
• Manages IT Pharmacy applications such as Carefusion Portal, Alaris CQI, Sentry 340B.
• Assists in creating and maintaining policies affecting Pharmacy operations.
• Models effective communication and appropriate channels with staff.
• Equips Pharmacy with reporting/data tools within Meditech.
• Ensures compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws.

Patient Population

The patient population served is all patients, including geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric, and newborn. This also includes services which affect facility staff, physicians, visitors, vendors and the general public.

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Department Leadership, provides clinical pharmaceutical care to patients and serves as expert, professional resource to service areas and the Department of Pharmacy Services. Serves as the Pharmacist in Charge and provides direct supervision and oversight of inventory and purchasing. Incumbent pharmacist-in-charge shall be responsible for a pharmacys compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to the practice of pharmacy.
Must be able to work normal/scheduled working hours to include Holidays, call-backs, weeknights, weekends, and on-call. Agrees to participate, as directed, in emergencies and community disasters during scheduled and unscheduled hours. As a designated disaster service worker you are required to assist in times of need pursuant to the California Emergency Services Act. (Gov't. Code §§ 3100, 3102)

Education / Training / Experience

One (1) year of experience with information technology related to medication management safety is strongly preferred. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced clinical skills, successful interpersonal relations, and increased responsibility. Must have and maintain current licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in the state of California. Doctorate preferred. Residency preferred.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence if required. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English, and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages if required.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic computer skills.

Licensure / Certifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have and maintain current licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in the state of California. Must have and maintain current American Heart Association BLS certification or obtain within orientation process, prior to assignment.

• 6 Demonstrates ability to foster good relations with the Interdisciplinary Team while still performing necessary duties as a Registered Pharmacist.
• 7 Manages IT Pharmacy oriented applications such as the Carefusion Knowledge Portal, Alaris CQI, Alaris Drug Library and Sentry 340B Software.
• 8 Assists the department in the creation and maintenance of policies and procedures that affect Pharmacy operations and patient care.
• 9 Models appropriate communication and assists other staff in the identification of appropriate communication channels and methods.
• 10 Equips the department of pharmacy with reporting and data collection tools within the Meditech environment.
• 11 Rresponsible for a pharmacys compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to the practice of pharmacy.
