Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Pharmacy Clerk to support daily pharmacy operations, assist customers, stock supplies and handle cash transactions with care and professionalism.

You will gather patient information, prepare prescriptions, process refills, and assist in coordinating deliveries, vaccines, and nursing home medications as needed. We value detail-oriented, trustworthy team players committed to service excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Vaccination certification may be required where applicable.
• Six months to one year of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers and learning their names.
• Answer the telephone promptly and process refill orders with courteous service.
• Gather patient information required to prepare prescriptions.
• Stock received product and supplies and keep pharmacy supplies well stocked.
• Review prescriptions that have not been picked up as requested by the department manager.
• Log invoices and complete cash transactions accurately.
• Prepare paperwork and assemble medicines for delivery orders and mail-outs.
• Coordinate nursing home medicines as necessary.
• Administer vaccines as allowed by law, with required certification where applicable.
• Maintain cleanliness of the pharmacy and confidentiality of patient information.
• Collaborate with co-workers to ensure customer satisfaction.
