Job summary

Jobtailor in Ohio is seeking a Pharmacy Support Specialist to answer incoming calls and respond to electronic communications, assist providers and patients, and process benefits investigations and prior authorizations.

You will collaborate with pharmacists to obtain clinical and financial information for program enrollment, evaluate patient eligibility for PAP/MAP, and interact with physicians and nurses in a courteous, professional manner.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred and 1+ years healthcare experience.
• Experience with insurance benefits, medical records, and pharmacy operations.
• Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
• RPhT preferred; active registration may be required.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls and respond to electronic communications.
• Assist health care providers and patients by greeting them by phone; answering questions and requests.
• Handle customer inquiries telephonically and by email.
• Manage and resolve customer complaints.
• Process benefits investigations, prior authorizations, and copayment assistance requests.
• Maintain knowledge of pharmacy assistance programs.
• Evaluate patient eligibility for PAP/MAP programs.
• Collaborate with clinical pharmacists to obtain information for enrollment.
• Interact with physicians, nurses and other health care professionals courteously.
• Support new team initiatives and elevate issues to supervisors.
