Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Two years of inpatient pharmacy technician experience or two years as a pharmacy technician in other settings.
• Two years of experience with automated pharmacy dispensing systems preferred.
• Strong verbal/written communication; availability for on-call system support; analytical ability to solve complex problems.
• Ability to work designated shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provides all services and functions provided by Pharmacy Technicians as necessary and assigned.
• Acts as a full-participants project teams, interacting with other departmental representatives to assure operational objectives are met.
• Liaises with Nursing Management to monitor and communicate medication discrepancies and aid resolution.
• Monitors dispensing trends of staff nurses to detect potential diversion and coordinates interdisciplinary meetings as needed.
• Maintains user IDs for automated dispensing systems; coordinates with HR for access changes and nursing orientation updates.
• Serves as the primary contact for IS issues related to automated dispensing systems and department software.
