Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Detroit is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support and optimize automated pharmacy systems across the health system. The role emphasizes automation, inventory control, and collaboration with nursing and multidisciplinary teams to improve medication safety and workflow.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of inpatient pharmacy experience (or equivalent), MI licensure, strong Excel skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Requires at least two years of inpatient pharmacy technician experience (or two years as a pharmacy technician for other settings).
• Two years of experience with automated dispensing systems preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication; highly analytical; able to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain functional and operational integrity of automated dispensing systems (profiles, troubleshooting, audits, upgrades).
• Support automation implementations and coordinate with vendors and IT Partners.
• Act as liaison with Nursing Management to monitor medication discrepancies and support resolution.
• Run, monitor and interpret automation and CII reports; communicate trends for diversion monitoring and safety.
• Participate on project teams to improve workflows, efficiency and service levels.
• Provide core pharmacy technician services as needed.
