Job summary

Personalized Healthcare of Arizona in Tucson is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our clinical pharmacy team, supporting medication access and coordination with pharmacists, patients, and insurers.

Reporting to the Clinical Pharmacist, you will handle prior authorizations, patient assistance programs, prescription coordination, and documentation in the EHR, ensuring HIPAA compliance and exceptional patient service.

Qualifications

• Current CMA/RMA or equivalent Medical Assistant certification.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• At least one year of experience in a medical office, pharmacy, prior authorization, referral, or insurance coordination.
• Strong understanding of medical and pharmaceutical terminology.
• Experience with an electronic health record system (eClinicalWorks preferred).
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, submit, track, and follow up on prior authorization requests for medications, medical supplies, and specialty therapies.
• Coordinate with retail pharmacies, specialty pharmacies, infusion pharmacies, and pharmaceutical representatives.
• Assist with prescription-related follow-up, refill coordination, and medication procurement processes.
• Support patient enrollment in manufacturer assistance, copay assistance, and patient support programs.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EHR and track medication-related tasks, renewals, and outreach.
