Alice L. Walton School of Medicine (AWSOM) invites applications for a Pharmacology Faculty position to lead pharmacology education within a new four-year MD program in Bentonville, AR.

The role emphasizes active learning, case-based instruction, and collaboration across disciplines. The ideal candidate will hold a doctoral degree and demonstrate teaching excellence with experience in LCME/COCA-accredited settings.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Pharmacology or closely related field, or equivalent.
• Experience delivering Pharmacology content in higher education is required.
• Evidence of teaching excellence in higher education is required.
• Minimum of two years of LCME/COCA accredited medical education experience focused on pharmacology is required.
• Experience in curricular development and assessment tool design is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop Curriculum: oversee integration of Pharmacology content with clinically relevant narratives and NBME-style assessments.
• Teach/Instruct/Facilitate: deliver content using active learning; develop pre-session and in-session materials; facilitate discussions.
• Assessments/Evaluations: create objectives and map them to curriculum; collaborate on course improvements.
• Serve: participate in Curriculum/Admissions committees and related governance.
• Grow Professionally: engage in teaching development and educational best practices.
• Other: perform additional duties as assigned.
