Essentia Health seeks a Pharmacist Site Lead for the St Marys Medical Center in Duluth, MN. You will oversee the site’s pharmacy operations, lead dispensing activities, and ensure high-quality pharmaceutical care for patients, families, and clinical staff.

The role requires licensed pharmacists with leadership experience and hospital pharmacy exposure, and offers a day rotation with potential remote/hybrid options as part of Essentia Health's flexible scheduling and benefits program.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in pharmacy (BS or PharmD) required.
• ASHP-accredited residency or equivalent hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Licensed pharmacist in the relevant state(s) required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preparation and dispensing of prescriptions to provide comprehensive pharmacy services.
• Interpret orders, verify, dispense, and monitor medications for patients.
• Provide information on medications to patients, families, and staff.
• Support workflow development and process improvements in the pharmacy.
• Participate in hospital and pharmacy meetings and training activities.
• Assist with daily departmental tasks, audits, and staff precepting as needed.

Building Location:Building B - St Marys Medical CenterDepartment:2002410 HOSPITAL PHARMACY - SMMC HOSPJob Description:The Pharmacist Site Lead performs site lead activities consistent with the expectations of Essentia Health. Participates in and oversees the preparation and dispensing of prescriptions to provide comprehensive pharmacy services. Responsible for performing all duties associated with interpretation, order verification, dispensing and monitoring of medications ordered by prescribers; the evaluation and dissemination of comprehensive information about medications and their use, to patients, families, and medical staff; and providing quality pharmaceutical care to make a healthy difference in people’s lives.Key Responsibilities:• Supports Pharmacy workflow development and optimization• Communicates with Inter and intradepartmental pharmacy• Reviews, develops, and implements quality improvement tasks• Attends Hospital and Pharmacy meetings as assigned• Job duties may also include daily medication monitoring, distribution and acquisition duties as required by the pharmacy department, medication reconciliation, anticoagulation dosing and monitoring, pharmacokinetic monitoring, renal dose adjustments, and provide medication related consultative service to staff within Essentia Health.
