Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Pharmacist for our acute hospital. The role supports an interdisciplinary team, with duties across medication therapy management, education, and patient care.

The position involves a dynamic schedule with every other weekend and day/evening shifts (7-3:30, 12-10 pm), and a PRN Day/Evenings shift. You will ensure safe medication use and contribute to patient outcomes in a 355-bed facility.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree required; Doctoral Degree preferred.
  • Licensure: Pharmacy license in North Carolina.

Responsibilities

  • Manages drug therapy protocols as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Reviews, interprets and evaluates medication orders to identify and resolve potential drug-related problems.
  • Provides drug information and education to medical staff, healthcare professionals, and patients, including pharmacy students.
  • Documents interventions and outcomes for drug therapy quality improvement.
  • Evaluates medication orders for accuracy before order entry and after filling by technicians.

Essential Functions


  • Manages drug therapy protocols as a part of an interdisciplinary team.

  • Reviews, interprets and evaluates medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential or actual drug related problems.

  • Provides drug information and education to medical staff, healthcare professionals, and patients, and pharmacy students.

  • Documents interventions and their outcomes for use in drug therapy quality improvement efforts.

  • Evaluates medication orders for accuracy and completeness prior to order entry. Checks for accuracy after filling by technicians


Required Skills

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.


Education/ Certification


  • Education: Bachelor's Degree Required; Doctoral Degree Preferred

  • Licenses: Pharmacy License in the state of North Carolina
