Job summary

Harris Regional Hospital in North Carolina is seeking a Pharmacist to join our clinical pharmacy team. You will participate in multidisciplinary rounds and provide drug information, education, and interventions to optimize patient outcomes.

The role supports ICU, PCU/Cardiac, and Emergency Department services with shifts between 7 am and 7 pm, offering strong work-life balance and opportunities for professional development. A Doctor of Pharmacy degree and NC licensure are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy.
  • Active North Carolina pharmacist license.
  • Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS and PALS within six months of hire.
  • One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages drug therapy protocols as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Reviews and evaluates medication orders to identify and resolve drug-related issues.
  • Provides drug information and education to staff, patients, and students.
  • Documents interventions and outcomes for drug therapy quality improvement.
  • Evaluates medication orders for accuracy before order entry.
  • Checks for accuracy after filling by technicians.

How you'll contribute

A Pharmacist who excels in this role:

  • Manages drug therapy protocols as a part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Reviews, interprets and evaluates medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential or actual drug related problems.
  • Provides drug information and education to medical staff, healthcare professionals, and patients, and pharmacy students.
  • Documents interventions and their outcomes for use in drug therapy quality improvement efforts.
  • Evaluates medication orders for accuracy and completeness prior to order entry.
  • Checks for accuracy after filling by technicians.

What we're looking for

Applicants should possess a bachelor's degree at minimum, a Doctoral degree is preferred, along with a pharmacy license active in North Carolina. Additional requirements include:

  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
  • One year of experience preferred.
