Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital in San Diego, CA seeks a Pharmacist on a per diem basis to support inpatient post-ICU care, drug distribution, clinical pharmacy services and IV admixture in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role requires state licensure, PharmD or BS Pharm and may include orientation and opportunities for advancement. Per diem schedule with potential for full-time opportunities at the hospital.

Qualifications

• Minimum licensure requirements must be met for state licensure.
• Pharmacist should hold current state licensure.
• BLS certification may be required by state.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of pharmaceutical services including drug distribution systems, central operations and IV admixture.
• Provide clinical support for hospital pharmacy in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain adequate drug supplies at the pharmacy at all times.
• Instruct patients on medications to use after discharge.
• Develop and participate in staff training and education programs.
• Participate in patient drug therapy monitoring.
• Promote an environment of continuous quality improvement.

Schedule: Per Diem / As NeededCompensation: $72.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• As the Pharmacist, you will be responsible for having a working knowledge of all areas of pharmaceutical services including drug distribution systems, central operations and IV admixture.
• Providing clinical support of the hospital pharmacy function in a fast paced environment.
• Maintaining adequate drug supplies at the pharmacy at all times.
• Correctly informing and instructing patients on any drugs to be used after they are discharged.
• Developing and participating in new employee training and education programs.
• Participating in patient drug therapy monitoring.
• Promoting an environment of continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires successful completion of all educational requirements as mandated for state licensure.
• Current State licensure required.
• BLS if required by State.

Preferred Qualifications

• Pharm D or BS Pharm plus advanced degree or completion of hospital pharmacy residency.
