Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Registered Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy team. The role includes filling and verifying prescriptions, counseling patients, and supporting the pharmacy team in a fast-paced retail setting.

You will participate in wellness programs, community outreach, and ensure compliance with OBRA '90 and all state/federal regulations. The ideal candidate holds an active pharmacy license, has 6 months to 1 year of related experience, and is able to administer immunizations.

Qualifications

• College degree and licensure in pharmacy required; must maintain continuing education to keep license active
• 6 months to 1 year of similar or related work experience required
• Medication Therapy Management (MTM) preferred
• Ability to administer immunizations required

Responsibilities

• Fill and verify prescriptions and counsel patients in accordance with regulations
• Assist with controlled substance inventory as needed
• Assist with inventory control including ordering, stocking merchandise, checking invoices and entering inventory information
• Coach, counsel, and train pharmacy employees and participate in additional education and training
• Visit schools, doctor offices, and senior centers to market pharmacy services
• Build growth and sales through counseling and wellness programs
• Follow security and regulatory procedures including Quality Assurance Programs
• Assume responsibility for the department in absence of Pharmacy Manager
