Hy-Vee is hiring a Registered Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy team. You will fill and verify prescriptions, counsel patients, and support wellness programs in a fast-paced retail setting.

The position requires a pharmacy degree and license, with immunization certification and ongoing continuing education. You will collaborate with store leadership and participate in outreach to communities we serve.

Qualifications

• College degree and pharmacy licensure required.
• Maintaining continuing education to keep license active.
• 6 months to 1 year of related work experience required.
• Ability to administer immunizations required.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly service; greet customers and learn names.
• Fill and verify prescriptions; counsel patients per OBRA and laws.
• Assist with controlled substance inventory annually or as needed.
• Help with inventory control: ordering, stocking, invoices, data entry.
• Balance third‑party accounts and monthly inventory reconciliations.
• Support HBC manager with OTC ordering and merchandising.
• Coach, counsel, and train pharmacy staff; participate in education.
• Visit schools, doctors, and senior centers to promote services.
• Grow pharmacy business via counseling and wellness programs.
• Follow QA and regulatory procedures; maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
• Cover department in absence of Pharmacy Manager; report changes.
• Collaborate with other departments to promote wellness.
• Administer immunizations as certified; comply with policies.
• Report to work as scheduled and on time.
