Job summary

Akina Pharmacy in Sterling, Virginia, is seeking a Pharmacist – Sterile Compounding Supervisor to lead our technician team and ensure rigorous sterile compounding standards. This on-site, full-time role reports to the Production Manager and requires a Virginia license and strong knowledge of USP 797.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Virginia pharmacist license.
• Minimum 1 year of leadership overseeing pharmacy technicians.
• Minimum 1 year experience in sterile compounding.
• Minimum 1 year in a 503A or 503B compounding environment.
• Working knowledge of USP <797> and related regulatory requirements.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the sterile compounding technician team and ensure accountability.
• Oversee sterile production workflow, staffing, coverage, and on-time production delivery.
• Perform pharmacist in-process checks and verify aseptic practices per USP 797 and SOPs.
• Review and verify sterile Compounding Records and finalize release decisions within established timelines.
• Plan and deliver onboarding and ongoing competency training for technicians, with ongoing quality reporting.
