Job summary

UNITAS is seeking a Sterile Compounding Pharmacist to lead and oversee sterile compounding operations with a focus on quality and safety. The role requires hands-on expertise in sterile techniques and adherence to USP <797> and USP <800> standards, and mentoring technicians to uphold the highest patient-care standards.

The ideal candidate will mentor staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement in compounding processes in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent.
• Active pharmacist license in good standing.
• Extensive knowledge and practical experience with USP <797> and USP <800>.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and perform sterile compounding activities according to USP <797>, USP <800>, regulations, and policy.
• Ensure compliance with sterile compounding standards including environmental monitoring, cleaning/disinfection, garbing, hand hygiene, aseptic technique, beyond-use dating, and QA.
• Provide hands-on training and competency assessments for technicians in sterile compounding.
• Train technicians on aseptic technique, gowning, garbing, cleaning, equipment use, documentation, and workflows.
• Observe and coach technicians; conduct ongoing competency assessments.
