Job summary

Akina Pharmacy in Sterling, VA is seeking a Dispensing Technician Supervisor to lead a team of dispensing technicians, ensure accurate labeling and timely preparation for pharmacist verification, and maintain compliance with USP standards.

This in-person, full-time role reports to the Dispensing Manager and requires a CPhT and strong leadership. The position includes opportunities for growth in a fast-growing, patient-focused compounding pharmacy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in management, operations, or related field preferred.
• Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) status and Virginia Board of Pharmacy registration required.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Leads dispensing team and manages workflow at fill stations to meet turnaround-time targets.
• Ensures compliance with USP guidelines, Akina SOPs, and FEFO requirements; maintains accuracy.
• Resolves escalated orders and coordinates with Clinical Pharmacy to keep shipments moving.
• Delivers onboarding and training for technicians, maintaining competency records in the eQMS.
• Partners with pharmacists and Clinical Pharmacy to keep prescriptions moving and resolve issues the same day.
