Job summary

Kroger in Hampton, VA is seeking a Pharmacist to fulfill prescription needs with accuracy and provide pharmaceutical care. You will ensure adherence to all laws, maintain professional standards, and build strong relationships with customers and vendors.

The role requires a PharmD degree, active pharmacist license, and the ability to handle stress. Retail experience and a second language are preferred assets in a dynamic store environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in pharmacy.
• Current state pharmacist licensure in good standing.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Effective oral/written communication skills.
• 1 year of retail experience desired.
• Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing) desired.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill customers' prescription needs while concentrating on accuracy.
• Provide patient counseling and pharmaceutical care to customers.
• Ensure pharmacies comply with all local, state and federal laws (including HIPAA).
• Maintain a professional image through personal appearance, conduct and attitude and the physical condition of the pharmacy.
• Achieve a thorough knowledge of the trade area, its customers and its competition.
• Create a positive pharmacy department image through strong service and cooperation with customers and vendors.
• Monitor stock replenishment, inventory levels, policies, record keeping, security, scheduling, and equipment operation.
• Maintain proper records, inventory and security on all scheduled drugs.
• Follow procedures for handling pharmacy products from authorized sources.
• Ensure all accuracy tools are utilized appropriately.
• Establish/maintain all record keeping practices necessary for legal compliance.
• Maintain a clean, neat work area and professional image for customers.
• Ensure all product returns are handled per policy.
• Maintain and organize all policy manuals and reference materials and verify staff familiarity.
• Maintain proper signage in all areas.
• Make a strong effort to broaden personal knowledge and pharmacy skills.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
