The Pharmacist Intern learns under a Pharmacist's supervision at Baylor Scott & White Health. They provide care by helping compound and dispense medications, following federal, state, and local regulations and hospital policy.

Under supervision, they perform technical tasks, prepare IV admixtures, and assist with inventory, medication orders, and distribution to patients across the hospital.

Qualificações

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy.
• Must have completed 30 credit hours toward a professional degree in pharmacy.

Responsabilidades

• Under a Pharmacist's supervision, performs technical and clerical tasks for medication preparation, labeling, and dispensing, including sterile admixtures and unit-dose drugs.
• Under a Pharmacist's supervision, compounds or mixes ingredients correctly, including IV admixtures, solutions, syringes, and irrigation solutions.
• Calculates the appropriate formula for drug to be compounded, weighing and measuring needed amounts with accuracy.
• Prepares parenteral nutrition solutions and labels them appropriately.
• Enters medication orders from doctors' sheets or prescriptions; ensures correct product and dosage form per formulary; enters billing data.
• Performs delivery and stocking duties to ensure proper drug distribution.
• Delivers medication to patients and delivery carts to floors daily.
• Packages medication with proper labeling and log book documentation; maintains stock levels with pharmacist input.
