Job summary

Mercy is seeking a pharmacist to oversee preparation and dispensing of medications, verify orders, and monitor patient therapy. The role includes serving as a resource for medication information for patients and healthcare professionals, and supervising pharmacy support staff to ensure timely medication administration.

Education requirements include a BS in Pharmacy or PharmD with licensure in the applicable state. Retail experience is a plus but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist must hold a current license from the applicable State Board of Pharmacy.
• Education: BS or PharmD from ACPE-accredited school or college.
• Preferred: retail experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees preparation and dispensing of medications and verifies orders.
• Monitors patient medication therapy and intervenes with physicians as needed.
• Provides medication information to patients, physicians, nurses and other professionals.
• Supervises pharmacy support personnel to ensure timely medication administration and compliance with policies.
