Job summary

The Johns Hopkins Health System seeks a Clinical Pharmacist Coordinator in Peri-OP to lead our technician staff and ensure patient safety in medication dispensing. This role covers Adult Medicine, Emergency, and Surgery Pharmacy services across the Johns Hopkins Health System in Baltimore.

Candidates should have completed, or be pursuing, an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency or equivalent experience, with strong collaboration across care teams and a commitment to education for students and staff.

Qualifications

• PharmD or BS in Pharmacy from an accredited college.
• ASHP accredited residency or equivalent experience desired.
• Experience supervising pharmacy personnel in a health-system.
• Maryland pharmacist licensure required; hospital education within 90 days.

Responsibilities

Pharmacist coordinator inPeri-OP serves an integral role in product dispensing and in overall pharmacy operations. These pharmacists are responsible for leading our technician staff, reporting operational concerns or needs, and ensuring patient safety through the medication dispensing process. This position serves in the Adult Medicine, Emergency, and Surgery Pharmacy Division, which provides comprehensive pharmacy services to all adult patients at JHH with the exception of oncology patients, specifically with the division's perioperative services. Applicants are preferred to have completed, or be in the process of completing, an ASHP accredited PGY1 residency program or have equivalent experience. This Clinical Pharmacist 1 is responsible for working collaboratively with multidisciplinary health care teams to promote the safe and effective use of medications during the medication order review and verification process as well as addressing clinical pharmacy questions and concerns. Additional responsibilities for the position include: medication management, emergency code response, care coordination, drug information response, and education to students, residents, pharmacists, other health care practitioners and patients and family members. There is not typically a routine rounding component to this position.

Minimum Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy resulting in Pharm D. or BS degree. Completion of an ASHP accredited residency program or equivalent experience is desired.
• Previous health-system experience with responsibility for the supervision of pharmacy personnel is desired.
• Current licensure as a pharmacist in the State of Maryland required.
• Hospital and departmental education requirements completed within 90 days of hire. ACLS and/or PALS certification is desired.

Salary Range

Minimum 51.79/hour - Maximum 85.52/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
