Job summary

Harris Regional Hospital in Sylva, North Carolina, seeks a Pharmacist (PRN) to perform clinical pharmacy services across ICU, PCU/Cardiac, and ED from 7 am–7 pm. You will collaborate with a hospital-wide team to optimize drug therapy, educate staff and patients, and document interventions for quality improvement.

Applicants should hold a pharmacy degree, an active NC license, and may have ACLS/PALS and Life Support certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required.
• Doctoral degree in Pharmacy preferred.
• Active North Carolina pharmacy license required.

Responsibilities

• Manages drug therapy protocols as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Reviews, interprets and evaluates medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve drug-related problems.
• Provides drug information and education to medical staff, healthcare professionals, patients and students.
• Documents interventions and outcomes for drug therapy quality improvement.
• Evaluates medication orders for accuracy prior to entry.
• Checks accuracy after filling by technicians.

How You'll Contribute

What We're Looking For

Applicants should possess a bachelor's degree at minimum, a Doctoral degree is preferred, along with a pharmacy license active in North Carolina. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred
