Job summary

Memorial Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks a pharmacist to join a dedicated team in Las Cruces, NM. This full-time, day-shift role participates in interdisciplinary care and supports drug therapy optimization.

You will review orders, provide education, and document interventions to improve patient outcomes. We seek candidates with a pharmacy degree and NM licensure, ideally with hospital experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in pharmacy required.
  • Licensed pharmacist in the state of New Mexico on hire.
  • Experience in hospital pharmacy or clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages drug therapy protocols as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Reviews, interprets and evaluates medication orders to identify and resolve drug-related problems.
  • Provides drug information and education to medical staff, patients, and pharmacy students.
  • Documents interventions and outcomes for drug therapy quality improvement.
  • Evaluates medication orders for accuracy before and after order entry; supports technicians.

How You'll Contribute

A Pharmacist who excels in this role:

  • Manages drug therapy protocols as a part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Reviews, interprets and evaluates medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential or actual drug related problems.
  • Provides drug information and education to medical staff, healthcare professionals, patients, and pharmacy students.
  • Documents interventions and their outcomes for use in drug therapy quality improvement efforts.
  • Evaluates medication orders for accuracy and completeness prior to order entry. Checks for accuracy after filling by technicians.
  • Maintains adequate knowledge of pharmacy automated systems and computer software.
  • Accurately and appropriately issues controlled substances to patient care areas. Corrects and attends to all discrepancies with controlled substances as required by law.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree in pharmacy and be a licensed pharmacist in the state of New Mexico upon hire. Additional requirements include:

  • One to two years as a licensed pharmacist preferred
