Job summary

Memorial Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Pharmacist in Las Cruces, NM to join our interdisciplinary team. You will review orders, provide drug information, and contribute to medication safety and education for staff and patients.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and be a licensed pharmacist in New Mexico upon hire, with 1–2 years of experience preferred. Join us in delivering community health excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Manages drug therapy protocols as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Reviews, interprets and evaluates medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential or actual drug related problems.
  • Provides drug information and education to medical staff, healthcare professionals, patients, and pharmacy students.
  • Documents interventions and their outcomes for use in drug therapy quality improvement efforts.
  • Evaluates medication orders for accuracy and completeness prior to order entry. Checks for accuracy after filling by technicians.
  • Maintains adequate knowledge of pharmacy automated systems and computer software.
  • Accurately and appropriately issues controlled substances to patient care areas. Corrects and attends to all discrepancies with controlled substances as required by law.
