Job summary

Memorial Medical Center Las Cruces in Las Cruces, NM is seeking a licensed Pharmacist to join our team for a full-time day shift with rotating weekends. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to manage drug therapy protocols, review and interpret medication orders, provide drug information, and document outcomes for quality improvement.

Applicants should hold a pharmacy degree and NM Pharmacist license; one to two years of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required.
  • Licensed pharmacist in New Mexico upon hire.
  • 1–2 years licensed pharmacist experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages drug therapy protocols as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Reviews, interprets and evaluates medication orders to identify and prevent drug-related problems.
  • Provides drug information and education to medical staff, patients and students.
  • Documents interventions and outcomes for drug therapy quality improvement.
  • Evaluates medication orders for accuracy prior to entry; checks after filling by technicians.
  • Maintains knowledge of pharmacy systems and software.
  • Issues controlled substances correctly and addresses discrepancies as required by law.

How you’ll contribute

A Pharmacist who excels in this role:

  • Manages drug therapy protocols as a part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Reviews, interprets and evaluates medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential or actual drug related problems.
  • Provides drug information and education to medical staff, healthcare professionals, patients, and pharmacy students.
  • Documents interventions and their outcomes for use in drug therapy quality improvement efforts.
  • Evaluates medication orders for accuracy and completeness prior to order entry. Checks for accuracy after filling by technicians.
  • Maintains adequate knowledge of pharmacy automated systems and computer software.
  • Accurately and appropriately issues controlled substances to patient care areas. Corrects and attends to all discrepancies with controlled substances as required by law.

What we’re looking for

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and be a licensed pharmacist in the state of New Mexico upon hire. Additional requirements include:
