Job summary

Eurofins is seeking a Materials Scientist to support drug development programs through advanced solid-state and particle characterization. You will perform solid-state analyses, screen polymorphs and crystallization, and collaborate across chemistry, formulation, and biopharmaceutics teams to advance API projects.

The role requires hands-on experience with XRPD, DSC, TGA, FTIR, Raman and related methods, plus strong data interpretation and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of industry experience in pharma materials science.
• Strong experience with solid-state characterization techniques (XRPD, DSC, TGA, FTIR, Raman).
• Experience in API development, small molecule testing, and drug production is required.
• Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills for solid-state chemistry and particle characterization.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform solid-state characterization of pharmaceutical small molecules using XRPD, DSC, TGA, microscopy, spectroscopy and moisture sorption analysis.
• Support polymorph, salt, co-crystal and crystallization screening studies for API development.
• Conduct particle and powder characterization including size, shape and surface energy analyses.
• Collaborate with Medicinal Chemistry, Formulation Development, Biopharmaceutics, and Materials Science teams.
• Analyze data, troubleshoot challenges, and provide technical recommendations to project teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation in electronic lab notebook systems.
