Job summary

Eurofins Scientific in Groton, CT is seeking an Associate Scientist to support laboratory work on drug candidate solid forms, including salt forms and polymorphs. The role focuses on solid state and particle characterization to evaluate suitability for pharmaceutical development.

You will collaborate across Medicinal Chemistry, Formulation and Biopharmaceutics teams, document results in ELN, and contribute to method development while following good manufacturing and analytical practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (BS) with 2+ years of experience or a Master’s degree (MS) in pharmaceutical science, chemistry, chemical engineering, or related field.
• Strong pharmaceutical, API, small molecules testing for drug production is strongly preferred.
• Experience in solid state characterization techniques (X-ray powder diffraction, DSC, TGA, spectroscopy).
• Good analytical data interpretation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct solid state characterization (e.g., XRD, thermal analysis) of small molecules.
• Support crystallization, polymorph, salt, and co-crystal screening activities.
• Perform API particle characterization and surface characterization.
• Document results and maintain accurate ELN records.
