Job summary

The Associate Scientist at Eurofins Scientific in Groton, CT provides laboratory support in synthesizing salt forms and polymorphs of drug candidates and assesses their suitability as drug substances for manufacturing and formulation. The role emphasizes solid form and particle characterization and collaboration with project teams.

We expect hands-on experience with solid state techniques and a willingness to learn new analytical approaches within our Materials Science group.

Qualifications

• Degree required in pharmaceutical science, chemistry, chemical engineering, or related field.
• Experience with solid state characterization and data interpretation.
• Familiarity with infrared spectroscopy and/or SSNMR is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform solid state characterization of small molecules relevant to pharma.
• Support project teams in crystallization, salt, and polymorph screening.
• Conduct API particle characterization and related analyses.
• Characterize powders for size, shape, and surface properties.
• Collaborate with Medicinal Chemistry and Formulation teams on strategies.
• Solve problems using Materials Science experimental techniques.
