Job summary

AstraZeneca in Coppell, Texas seeks a Night Shift Process Engineer to support a 12-hour rotating schedule from 2 PM to 2 AM. The role focuses on leading process improvements and ensuring GMP compliance for a robust manufacturing process at the site.

You will coordinate with contractors, perform data analysis, develop control strategies, and train operators while contributing to safety, quality and yield enhancements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with direct processing experience preferred in pharma/GMP environments.
• 1–2 years experience in pharmaceutical production or GMP environment.
• Ability to read P&IDs and perform mass/energy balances.
• Strong verbal/written interpersonal communication skills.
• Desirable: lean concepts, root cause investigations, Minitab/Trackwise.

Responsibilities

• Lead process improvements and maintain compliance with GMP standards.
• Develop process schemes, PFDs, and scopes of work.
• Identify projects to improve safety, yield, quality, and material usage.
• Coordinate with contractors for facility buildout and expansion.
• Develop control strategies, instrument design, and shutdown procedures.
• Prepare study proposals, progress reports, and technical memos.
• Support scale-up activities from R&D to production.
• Provide operator training on process/document changes.
