Job summary

AbbVie Inc. in Chicago is seeking a Production Specialist I to join a fast-paced pharmaceutical finishing operation. You will support setup, changeover and packaging, while maintaining safety, quality and regulatory compliance on the line.

You will collaborate with peers, perform line clearances, execute in-process checks, and contribute to continuous improvement with cross-functional teams. The role requires standing up to 8-12 hours, lifting up to 25 pounds, and flexibility to 40–60 hour weeks

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent; technical certificate or degree preferred.
• Maintains highest level of quality and compliance with site policies and procedures.
• Ability to communicate issues to engineering and mechanical teams.
• Basic computer skills; ability to learn new programs/applications.
• Understanding of systems such as POMs, SAP, and MAXIMO preferred.
• Knowledge of cGMP requirements and procedures preferred.
• Requires standing 8–12 hours daily and lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Work 40–48 hours per week; may reach 60 hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Environmental, Health and Safety procedures and foster a proactive safety culture.
• Perform housekeeping on finishing lines; complete line clearances for lots and changes.
• Assist in setup of automated equipment in packaging areas.
• Operate automated and semi-automated manufacturing equipment to produce finished product.
• Conduct quality checks, sampling, and in-process verifications; track bulk/commodity.
• Maintain 6S of parts and tooling on the production floor.
• Escalate safety, quality, or operational issues to appropriate groups promptly.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive improvement and align with production priorities.
