Job summary

Veolia Environnement is seeking an Engineering Associate to support planning, design, permitting, and construction of capital water and wastewater projects, with a focus on PFAS treatment systems across the New York Business Unit (Rockland, Orange, Putnam, Tioga, and Westchester).

Under senior guidance, you will coordinate with engineering, operations, contractors, and consultants to deliver projects safely, on schedule and compliant with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering or related field.
• 0-3 years of related engineering or project management experience in water/wastewater or environmental engineering.
• Hydraulic modeling experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support development, design and delivery of capital improvement projects per engineering guidelines and procurement policies.
• Ensure EHS standards are incorporated into design specifications.
• Review submittals (drawings, specs, calculations) for PFAS treatment systems.
• Coordinate permit applications with local staff for local, state, and federal agencies.
• Conduct on-site field inspections during construction to ensure conformance with plans and standards.
• Track project metrics, schedules, and expenditures against budgets and report/forecast accordingly.
• Drive efficiency via delivery metrics and alternate procurement methods.
• Support construction management oversight to ensure timely completion and budget adherence.
• Provide technical expertise on engineering and operational issues and support facility condition assessments.
