Job summary

SGS's Dayton, NJ laboratory is seeking a Laboratory Analyst to join the PFAS team. The Analyst prepares and analyzes samples with accuracy and precision in accordance with SGS' analytical SOPs.

The role supports meeting daily production targets and ensures hold times and turnaround times are met, working both independently and as part of a team. The position requires knowledge of basic analytical chemistry principles, adherence to safe laboratory practices, and the ability to operate and

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Chemistry or similar with 0–2 years experience or 3 years relevant experience (Required)
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or similar with 1–2 years relevant experience (Preferred)
• Basic mathematical and reasoning skills (Required)
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) (Required)
• Experience with LIMS (Preferred)
• Ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull upwards of 25 lbs frequently (Required)

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze samples according to SGS' SOPs using department instruments and methodologies
• Perform routine operation, maintenance, and calibration of laboratory instruments
• Assist with validation and MDL studies
• Assist with investigation and responses to client inquiries and CARs
• Input and maintain technical information to support lab functions
• Maintain laboratory notebook
• Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned
