Job summary

SGS, the world leader in testing, inspection, and certification, seeks an entry‑level Lab Technician I for our Dayton, NJ laboratory PFAS team. You will prepare samples with accuracy following SOPs, work independently or in a team to meet daily targets, and maintain safe lab practices.

The role requires a high school diploma, 0–2 years in analytical chemistry, and English proficiency; associates degree and prior lab experience are preferred. Health benefits and growth opportunities are included.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma is required.
  • 0-2 years of experience in analytical chemistry labs or hands-on experience.
  • Associates degree in chemistry or similar field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred in analytical chemistry labs.
  • English language required.
  • Basic math and reasoning skills required.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to lift/carry/pull up to 25 lbs regularly.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare samples for analysis following SOPs with basic department instrumentation.
  • Perform routine operation, calibration, and maintenance of prep instruments.
  • May assist with validation and MDL studies.
