RadNet is looking for a PET Technologist Float to join our team in Port Charlotte, Florida. The role involves operating PET scanners, producing high-quality diagnostic images, and assisting in patient care during procedures.

Qualifications

  • Current ARRT(N) and/or NMTCB certification with State Nuclear Medicine License.
  • Venipuncture certification/permit required.
  • BLS certification is necessary.
  • Minimum of one year of diagnostic imaging experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate PET scanners and related equipment safely and according to procedures.
  • Produce diagnostic images while providing patient care.
  • Assist radiologists during imaging and interventional procedures.

Job description

Position Overview

When you join us as a PET Technologist Float covering our Port Charlotte, Sarasota, & Fort Myers centers, you will be part of a dedicated team that delivers quality, value, and access in the 21st century, aligning all stakeholders—patients, providers, payors, and regulators—to achieve the best clinical outcomes.

You Will
  • Perform complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of PET scanners and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures and company protocols.
  • Produce high‑quality diagnostic images in a timely manner while providing excellent patient care.
  • Assist radiologists with imaging and interventional procedures, starting IVs, and injecting contrast if needed.
  • Guide patients through this sometimes‑difficult process by kindly talking them through the steps and answering their questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and the process.
  • Monitor patient well‑being during exams; recognize patient discomfort or medical problems and take appropriate action.
  • Respond to physician questions and needs regarding patients.
  • Demonstrate competence regarding the need to safeguard patient property and Patient Health Information.
  • Safeguard any on‑site medications in accordance with company policies, procedures, and any legal requirements.
  • Demonstrate respect for company property, including any cash and patient financial information on site or on patient portals.
  • Be responsive to the needs of others by exhibiting and maintaining professional behavior toward patients and coworkers.
  • Demonstrate respect for patient boundaries and cultural sensitivities during all interactions.

Required Qualifications
  • Must have current ARRT(N) and/or NMTCB certification with State Nuclear Medicine License.
