Job summary

Kansas City Pet Project in Kansas City, Missouri seeks a Pet Support Center Specialist for a full-time, non-exempt position. The role supports residents through the Pet Support Center, Helpline and Desk, handling intake, adoptions, and financial assistance conversations.

The schedule is 4 days per week, 9:00am–7:00pm, with bilingual English/Spanish speakers eligible for additional compensation. Candidates should have strong customer service skills, a high school diploma, and at least two years

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of experience in a customer service/retail sales or social services position is required.
• Any animal welfare or shelter experience is preferred but not required.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to the KC Pet Project insurance carrier.
• Ability to speak Spanish is preferred (extra compensation for bilingual).

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service for the Pet Support Center and Helpline.
• Assist with pet intake, owner relinquishments, and reuniting pets with owners.
• Maintain accurate records and process daily paperwork.
• Coordinate with clinics on vaccines and medical tests.
• Support donations and share client stories to aid lifesaving goals.
• Adhere to KC Pet Project policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
