Job summary

Great Plains SPCA in Merriam, KS is seeking a Pet Admissions and Retention Specialist to manage the intake and processing of animals in a safe, humane manner. This full-time, non-exempt role requires attention to detail, emotional resilience, and the ability to work with diverse people and animals.

You will schedule appointments, enter animals into the shelter system, coordinate with other departments, and provide excellent service to pet owners and partners.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills to work with diverse people and animals.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures consistently.
• Experience with shelter or nonprofit settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments for returned and surrendered animals.
• Process incoming animals, weigh, age, vaccinate, and report concerns.
• Enter animals into the shelter management system accurately.
• Coordinate with departments on animal movement and care.
• Provide excellent service to pet owners, officers, partners and guests.
