Job summary

Petco is seeking a reliable Key Holder to join our Pet Care Center team. You will supervise partners, open/close the store, and act as the daily on-floor leader in the absence of management. You’ll deliver friendly, informed service while ensuring a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment.

You’ll manage cash handling, support merchandising, and assist with inventory. Prior retail leadership experience helps you excel in a fast-paced setting and grow with Petco.

Qualifications

• Previous retail experience required; key holder or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills and experience handling cash and transactions.
• Reliable, responsible, and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store, following all cash handling, safety, and security protocols.
• Lead on the sales floor, supervise partners, and be the primary contact in management absence.
• Provide friendly, knowledgeable service and support store leadership on daily operations.
• Ensure merchandising standards, pricing accuracy, signage, and promotional setup.
• Manage inventory activities, restocking, cycle counts, and shrink awareness.
• Assist with training new partners and maintaining a clean, organized store.
