Job summary

NVA Pet Resorts is seeking an hands‑on, full‑time Assistant General Manager to help lead the PetSuites Arlington Heights resort in Arlington Heights, Illinois. You will partner with the General Manager to run daily operations, develop the team, and ensure exceptional care for pets and guests.

Responsibilities include coaching Shift Leads, maintaining service standards, and driving revenue growth while controlling costs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–4 years of customer service experience; leadership experience a plus.
• Strong communication skills and comfort leading teams in a hands‑on environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and point‑of‑sale (POS) systems.
• Availability to work up to 45–50 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
• Valid driver’s license, current insurance, and a vehicle for pet transport in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Model NVA values and leadership competencies daily.
• Coach and develop shift leads and team members to build capability.
• Maintain operational excellence across pet care, facility standards, cleanliness, and safety.
• Lead 1–2 shifts per week as Manager on Duty and oversee staffing and scheduling.
• Execute daily audits, checklists, and end‑of‑shift reporting across departments.
• Partner with General Manager on recruiting, training, and performance management.
