Job summary

United Petfood Producers USA Inc. in Mishawaka, IN is seeking a Packaging Technician to set up, operate, and troubleshoot packaging lines in a fast-paced environment.

You will perform sanitation, quality checks, and line changes while maintaining logs and following GMPs and safety policies. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift 35-50 pounds and move ingredients.
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and use of basic hand tools.
• Experience with or ability to learn computerized equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, starting up and operation of packaging equipment according to the production schedule.
• Monitor equipment and perform adjustments, changeovers, small repairs and basic maintenance.
• Perform sanitation tasks to ensure quality standards.
• Complete re-work as necessary.
• Maintain logs and records during packaging process in RedZone system.
• Perform in-process quality checks on samples to ensure correct packaging.
• Clean, disassemble and reassemble line equipment for inspection or deep cleaning.
• Changeover/set up machine for run; load product and materials; obtain line clearance.
• Follow safety procedures and GMPs; report deviations.
