Highway 30 Veterinary Clinic in Harvey, TX is seeking a Kennel Assistant to support grooming and boarding operations. You will work under the Practice Manager to care for patients, maintain a clean, safe kennels, and assist doctors and technicians as needed.

Qualifications

• Weekend availability required.
• Prior veterinary experience preferred.
• Able to lift up to 25 pounds; assist with heavier lifts.
• Follow OSHA PPE safety techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provides great care for patients visiting for grooming or boarding.
• Admit patients with client instructions to ensure quality outcomes.
• Record feeding, appearance, and behavior during visits.
• Monitor patient condition for signs of illness or discomfort.
• Safely restrain hard-to-control patients when needed.
• Walk patients several times daily for exercise and elimination.
• Provide food and liquids per dietary needs.
• Ensure patients are clean and discharge-ready with personal property.
• Keep cages and belongings organized and labeled.
• Regularly clean and disinfect kennels, wash bowls and equipment.
• Launder towels and blankets.
• Maintain hospital grounds and waste; perform light housekeeping.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
