Job summary

Heartland Veterinary Partners in Marion, IL is seeking a Kennel Assistant to provide care for dogs and cats visiting the practice for grooming and boarding. You will help admit patients, follow client instructions, and ensure a clean, safe boarding area.

The role requires weekend availability, the ability to lift up to 25 pounds, basic safety steps, and prior veterinary experience preferred. Training is provided; opportunities for growth and benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Weekend availability required.
• Previous veterinary experience preferred.
• Able to lift up to 25 pounds with/without assistance.
• Follow OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE.

Responsibilities

• Provides care for patients visiting for grooming and/or boarding.
• Admits patients with accurate contact info and client instructions.
• Records feeding schedules, appearance and behavior during visits.
• Observes patient condition and reports concerns to doctor or technician.
• Walks patients several times daily for exercise and bathroom needs.
• Maintains cleanliness of cages, runs, and wards; launders towels and blankets.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
