Job summary

VCA Animal Hospitals in the New York area is seeking a client service associate to greet clients and their pets, manage appointments, answer phones, and process payments. This role requires strong listening and communication skills and a compassionate approach to both people and animals.

Responsibilities include guiding clients to exam rooms, educating on basic pet care, maintaining records, and coordinating follow-ups.

Qualifications

• At least one year of proven past experience helping customers.
• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.
• Compassion for pets and people and awareness of others’ reactions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• The ability to lift up to 40 lbs and be exposed to hazards associated with pets.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors, answer telephones, and guide clients and their pets to exam rooms.
• Schedule and confirm appointments.
• Place outbound calls for follow-ups and prospective clients.
• Present and explain fees, including processing payments.
• Recommend, select, and obtain products and services, including prescriptions.
• Answer questions regarding products and services and educate clients on general pet care.
• Manage medical records, charts, reports and correspondence.
