Job summary

Petco is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead a Pet Care Center and support the General Manager in daily operations. You will guide partners, ensure pets’ safety, and deliver outstanding customer experiences.

You will assist with hiring, coaching, merchandising, and promotion events, while maintaining a welcoming store environment and meeting performance goals. Strong communication and a love for animals are essential.

Qualifications

• Retail experience with supervisory or management exposure.
• Ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Familiarity with POS systems and Microsoft Office.
• Passion for animals and knowledge of pet care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead store partners on the sales floor and promote exceptional service.
• Assist with inventory, merchandising, and promotional events.
• Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing coaching of staff.
• Step in as acting leader in the General Manager's absence.
• Monitor performance metrics and drive sales and customer satisfaction.
