Job summary

Petco is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead a Pet Care Center team in a fast-paced retail environment. You will mentor partners, uphold Petco standards, and ensure exceptional customer experiences while maintaining store performance and brand integrity.

The role requires strong leadership, retail experience, and a passion for animal care. You will be on the sales floor, coaching, and stepping in for the General Manager as needed to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail experience, including supervisory or management experience.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Passion for animals and knowledge of pet care strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead store partners to deliver outstanding service and meet sales goals.
• Oversee hiring, onboarding, and ongoing development of team members.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and recognition to improve performance.
• Ensure clean, organized store and consistent brand standards.
• Manage daily operations and drive sales from the floor.
• Step in for General Manager when needed and resolve customer concerns.
