Job summary

Petco is seeking an Assistant Manager to help run a high-performing Pet Care Center and deliver exceptional customer experiences. You will lead partners, care for pets, and model integrity while stepping in for the General Manager as needed.

You will oversee daily operations, drive sales and service goals, coach staff, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for pets, pet parents, and team members. This full-time role offers growth and hands-on leadership.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail experience, including supervisory or management experience.
• Ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead store partners to deliver outstanding service and build customer loyalty.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing development.
• Provide timely coaching, feedback, and recognition to improve performance.
• Maintain a clean, organized store reflecting Petco's brand and values.
• Support daily store operations and drive sales, service, and goals.
• Monitor performance metrics and share insights with leadership.
• Step into leadership during the General Manager's absence and handle escalations.
