Petco Animal Supplies, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead a busy Pet Care Center on the sales floor, ensuring exceptional service, care for animals, and daily operations run smoothly.

You will coach partners, manage scheduling, support hiring and onboarding, and step into the General Manager’s role when needed, while upholding Petco’s standards and values. This full-time role requires strong communication, flexibility to work evenings and weekends, and a passion for animals to guide

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail experience, including supervisory or management responsibilities.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Passion for animals and knowledge of pet care.

Responsibilities

• Uphold Petco animal care standards and ensure safe handling of all animals.
• Lead store partners to deliver outstanding service and build customer loyalty.
• Hire, onboard, train, and develop store partners.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and recognition to improve performance.
• Maintain a clean, organized store reflecting Petco’s brand.
• Support daily operations and drive sales on the floor.
• Monitor performance metrics and share results with the GM.
• Assist with inventory control, merchandising, and events.
• Step in leadership in GM’s absence and resolve escalated concerns.
